My team down under started to break up so I had to jump ship like all of the other players on that sinking team. Every year when my contract comes up, it is so hard to decide where to go and who to play for. This year was no different. I had two very good offers and both teams seemed to have exactly what I wanted. One of the teams was still in Australia with my old team. That would have been fun to join because I would have beat up the old team pretty bad : ) Instead I decided to travel a bit more and join the India league.
Wow, quite the different country for sure. I have some cultural adjustments to make to fit in here, but the people seem very friendly and so far my new teammates have been ok. The don't seem to talk much. I am not sure if it is because they don't have much to say or if they are concentrating on something all the time. I don't really feel like I fit in yet but that will come with time and education.
In my first game playing in India for the Yankees Jr. team, I fouled out. I guess I was just over excited and wanted to really put on an aggressive performance. I did manage to stay on the floor for 3 quarters and I was productive during that time. I was not the only one that fouled out. Our SG fouled out as well. I think he and I were on the same page as we were both pushing very hard in that game. The game was a blow out (we won), so both of us may have just started loosing focus and playing too relaxed as the game continued on. That will definitely not help us in close games against good opponents for sure.
