Ohgie Mcgee gives the details of #1 playing #2 in Ausie 3rd

It was a clash of #1 vs #2! It was a game of epic importance ...It was ... well ... a pathetic game :(

I was one of the three players that fouled out in for our team. Our centers shot 4/35 !!!! What the hell is up with that? I can see people having a bad day, but was the coach even at the game? If a player is throwing up bricks, you sit the boy down or move him to a new position to see if that helps. You certainly don't wait 30+ shots until he become "hot". It makes no sense. We lost by 23 so I don't feel as bad. I figure if the C position only took half of those shots and any other position picked them up we would have had a much closer game. There have been some nights our C position has really played well for us, this was not one of them.

Of course at PG we did not have a productive night, but at least we didn't prevent the team from succeeding (like 30 missed shots does). Still, having 10 fouls at the PG position is not right and we need to figure out a fix for that at some point. Our team would benefit from a scout big time, but if you look to our message boards, it does not look like many of my teammates communicate much any more. Everyone just shows up and does their job they way they think they need to. That may be a good reason why we are still #2 in our division and not in a position to challenge for #1 yet.

Ohgie Mcgee shares a close divisional game

O.K. you get what you wish for I guess! We finally had a close game in our division, but we came out on the wrong side of the event. We were playing the Penya All Stars who are a couple of positions below us in the standings. They played one heck of a game with the final scoring being 142 -128

Our 3rd quarter really stunk. We only scored 23 while we allowed 38 points. That is just not acceptable! We have such a hard time in the 3rd quarter almost every game. There may have to be some coaching adjustments we need to help us out.

Looking back at the last bunch of games, we have had strong 1st and 4th quarters consistently, but the third is always a weakness for us. I will have to talk to coach to find out what he is thinking on this topic.

So how do you keep up with all the strengths and weaknesses going on in the league? Well, I find it best to visit http://www.talkdep.com to check the official cyberdunk forums. Check it out.

Ohgie Mcgee ponders the rollercoaster league

Well it is always good to win, and you almost come to expect that you will lose a game eventually, but wow, we get clobbered when we loose. There is no such thing as a close game in our league this year. We will blow out teams by over 100 points and then wham...we get whipped by a similar amount, especially in the international rounds.

The league is young still, although it feels like I have been playing games forever now. I wonder if there may be too many leagues and not enough quality players. We certainly have the "haves" playing against "have nots" on any given night. I think we may have had 3 games this season that were within 10 points. I know I should not be complaining about winning all the time, but I do not get better by blowing out some new players. I get better by being challenged. After sleep walking through our blowouts I get quite the rude awaking when faced with a much better team. For instance take a look at our latest game vs Diablos De Hispannia, C.b

We lost 72 to 131 to begin with. I thought I sucked from the field with 1/15 shooting but it turns out that most of the other players on our team did worse, especially if you look at how many shots were taken. The only way we scored in this game was by going to the foul line. Speaking of fouls... we were in foul trouble all game long. We lost three starters to foul trouble. Normally, when we are getting blown out I get in foul trouble but I managed to contain myself well not drawing a single foul. Of course I didn't register a steal or block at all so I guess I could have been a bit more aggressive. Horrible night all around for all players on our team. We get so complacent beating up all of the teams we get that we do not improve ourselves well enough to play with the big boys.

How about your game? You say you don't have game yet? Well come on over to http://www.cyberdunk.com to get a player going and join in the fun!
